I know tinned corned beef is not at all the healthiest of foods but when I was a kid my mum used to make so many things with it, my top favorite being the corned beef fritters, they were ever so good!  I decided to try and look for some new ideas and came across this from  So I guess in Hawaii it seems to be popular as well … Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

  • 1 can corned beef, cubed
  • 6-7 large cabbage leaves, sliced into long thin strips
  • 1 onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tsp gluten free vegetable stock powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Freshly ground pepper
  • Chilli Flakes

Heat oil in pan on medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.  Add the canned corned beef and cook for a couple minutes.  Add the cabbage strips and combine with onions.  Sprinkle on the brown sugar, chilli and season.  Add the soy sauce and the water plus stock, stirring.  Cook for about 8 mins until some cabbage is soft whilst some still bit crispy.

Serve with Jasmine Rice.
